Pre-K Classes

Wiggle Worms

(previously parent tot)

Ages: Walking to 3 years old

This 45 minute class will help your little ones learn to take turns, share, listen, and follow directions.  Your instructor will help them through obstacle courses and fun activities that captures a child's imagination while developing their motor skills, as well as social and emotional growth.  

Parent participation is required in this class.

Lil' Hot Shots

Ages: 1 to 2 years old

This 45 minute class is for our Wiggle Worms who are excited and ready to take that first step away from their parents and develop some independence.  This course will contain imaginative play while developing motor strength, coordination, and basic gymnastic fundamentals.  

Parent participation is optional for this class.

Jr Hot Shots

(previously Tykes class)

Ages 2-3 years old

This 45 minute class will help your child continue to grow and develop by learning more advanced motor skills and strengthening.  Our goal by the end of this class is for your child to be able to perform the basic handstand shape, cartwheel, forward and backward rolls, bridge, pullovers, and much more!

Hot Shots

(previously Tykes 2 class )

Ages: 3 to 5 years old

This 1 hour class will help your child continue to grow and develop by learning more advanced motor skills and strengthening.  Our goal is by the end of this class is for your child to be able to perform the basic handstand shape, cartwheel, forward roll, backward roll,  bridge, pull over, and so much more. 

Little Tykes Open Gym

Children can explore & practice skills to build strength, coordination, balance, movement, fitness, and socialize with peers during Little Tykes Open Gym. 

 

School Age

Beginners

Ages: 5 to 6 years

Whether its your child's first gymnastics class or the 5th, this 1 hour class will help get your child right on track.  This course will help your child develop a solid foundation as well as focus developing self-esteem, friendships, teamwork, and strength. During this class our goal is for every child to learn skills like handstand, cartwheel, forward and backward rolls, pull overs, back hip circles, hollow and arch holds, as well as focus on proper running techniques and safe rolls.  

Beginner 2

During this 1 hour class, gymnasts continue skill progression and focus on strength, flexibility, and technique,  During this class, our goal is for every child to learn skills like:  pull-over, bridge kick over, handstand, handstand to bridge, run hurdle cartwheel, start round off, continue proper running techniques and vault.

Intermediate   USAG level 1

Ages: 5 and up (must pass beginners to join)

Mn Flyers Gymnastics has a growing USAG program.  This 1 1/2 hour class is the first step towards your child becoming a team level gymnast.  This course will teach a wide variety of more advanced basic skills on all 4 events to set your gymnast up for future success as they advance through the higher levels. 

Level 1 requirements:

Vault-Learn to run properly-proper hurdle-arm circle hops up to mat stack-handstand flat back

Bars-Pull up pull over-back hip circle-straddle toe shoot

Beam- Mount-candle stick-forward kicks-T lever-straight jumps-knee side handstand dismount

Floor-Split handstand-cartwheel-backward roll-candle stick-forward roll-passe hold-split jumps

Advanced   USAG level 2

Ages: 5 and up (must pass intermediate to join)

Mn Flyers Gymnastics has a growing USAG program.  This 1 1/2 hour class is the next step towards your child becoming a team level gymnast.  This course will teach a wide variety of more advanced basic skills on all 4 events to set your gymnast up for future success as they advance through the higher levels.

Vault- proper run-proper hurdle-bounce ups on board-handstand flat back

Bars-Pull up pull over-back hip circle-pike squat on undershoot

Beam- Mount-straddle swing pushup hold-scale-forward kicks-T lever-needle kick-passe hold-pivot turn-straight jumps-side handstand dismount

Floor-Vertical handstand-round off-backward roll pike stand-candle stick-forward roll-bridge kick over-pivot, pivot-leap-quarter turn-split jump

 

Home school open gym

Time in the gym to get moving and to socialize with other children who are learning at home.
